The former fishing village of Skinningrove sits on the Cleveland Way, and offers visitors a collection of quaint cottages, a selection of shops and a pub, as well as a sandy beach. Ideally placed for visiting attractions such as the Abbey and harbour at Whitby, the village of Staithes, pretty Runswick Bay and the rest of the coast, the village is also a good base for exploring the dramatic scenery of the North York Moors National Park, making it a great location for all the family.

The Property: Heritage Grove Cottage

A spacious, well-appointed wing of a former Victorian Powerhouse, just 800 yards from the sandy beach in the former fishing village of Skinningrove. Restored to a very high standard, the property boasts light and airy rooms, wonderful arched windows, a four poster bed, Victorian cast iron fireplace and a beautiful kitchen/diner with a Yorkshire range. A downstairs walk in shower room, double sofa bed settee and ramp access may make this delightful property suitable for accompanied disabled - please phone for further information. The historic town of Whitby, and coastal villages of Staithes and Runswick Bay are all easily reached, as is the lovely scenery of the nearby North York Moors National Park. The property adjoins Ref 1352 and together they can accommodate 17 people.

Accommodation

Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size four poster, 1 x twin with additional stacker bed (can be made up as a double + stacker bed). Bathroom with corner bath with shower over, basin & WC. Additional ground floor shower room with walk in shower, basin & WC. Well-equipped kitchen with dining area. Utility room. Spacious sitting room with sofa bed. Note: There is a spiral staircase leading from the kitchen to the bedrooms.

Amenities

Full gas fired central heating throughout. Gas cooker, microwave, washer/dryer, dishwasher, colour TV, video, DVD player, stereo/CD player etc. Fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Highchair available on request. Ample off road parking. Large enclosed shared garden with courtyard, furniture & BBQ. Up to two well behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops & pub 5 minutes walk.

The house is a credit to the owners. Plenty of places to visit and things to see. The mining museum behind the house was excellent and well worth a visit. We had a most enjoyable week and would definitely return to this property if the occasion arose. Thanks you for help in booking.

The house was in a good position for local amenities, a short car ride away to nearest shops, apart from village shop. Local beach a short walk away, and ideal location for visiting nearby attractions.
